To Associate a Cross-Referenced Shape with a Catalog Item Group Shape
1. In an open design, click Diagramming > Catalog Explorer. The Catalog Explorer dialog box opens.
2. From the Type list choose Groups.
3. Select the groupshape to associate with a cross-referenced shape.
4. Click . The shape opens in the main window.
5. Click in the Catalog tab. The Select a cross reference shape dialog box opens. All group shapes defined in the catalog as cross-referenced shapes appear in the list.

Click to remove the association between the cross-referenced shape and the groupshape.
6. Select the cross-referenced shape to use. The shape attaches to the pointer.
7. Drag the shape to the desired location. The cross-referenced shape graphics disappear when you repaint the window or close the sheet.
8. Click to the right of the dialog box. Make sure that the Linked to cross ref shape check box is selected.
9. Place the groupshape and then place other group members as required.
10. Click Data > Cross-reference Groupshape. The shapes update and the cross-reference graphics automatically appear. The shapes show the locations of other instanced group members.
