About the Catalog Tab
Use these tools to create and edit catalog items. The Catalog tab opens when you click to open a catalog sheet.
Clipboard Group
Use the Clipboard commands to cut copy and paste design items.
Paste—Click the arrow to display paste options.
Paste Shapes—Pastes a new shape of the copied components. Conductors are filtered out.
Paste—Pastes a new instance of all copied design objects including conductors.
Cut—Cuts the selected design object.
Copy—Copies the selected design object.
Explorers Group
Use the Explorers commands to open explorer dialog boxes.
Catalog Explorer—Opens the Catalog Explorer dialog box.
Datatable Explorer
Create Group
Use the Create commands to instance catalog items and create labels.
Instance Port—Opens the ports Catalog Selector dialog box.
Place New Shape—Opens the Add Member Shapes dialog box.
Label—Displays additional commands.
Add Label—Opens the Create Label dialog box.
Convert Text to Label—Converts the selected text to a label.
—Opens the block Catalog Selector dialog box.
—Opens the groups Catalog Selector dialog box.
—Opens the fibers Catalog Selector dialog box.
Info Group
Use the Info commands create and obtain information for component datums.
Set Datum—Attaches a new datum to the pointer.
Coordinate Viewer—Opens the Coordinate Viewer dialog box with the coordinates of the component datum.
Cable Group
Use the Cable commands to create and edit cables and cable decorations.
Reorder Logical Names—Opens the Reorder Logical Names dialog box.
Decorations—Displays additional commands.
Add Cable Decoration—Changes the pointer to add a cable decoration.
Remove Cable Decoration—Changes the pointer. Select a decoration to remove.
—Opens the Select a core fiber dialog box.
—Prompts to select a cable decoration to move.
—Prompts to select a decoration to add a shield port.
Variable Group Group
Use the Variable Group commands to automatically create cells in a variable group.
Create Cells—Click the arrow to create vertical or horizontal cells.
Vertical Cells—Automatically creates vertical cells.
Horizontal Cells—Automatically creates horizontal cells.
Create Boxed Cells—Click the arrow to automatically create vertical or horizontal boxed cells.
Vertical Cells with Box—Automatically creates boxed vertical cells.
Horizontal Cells with Box—Automatically creates boxed horizontal cells.
Click Variable Group to display an additional command.
Fix Index of Shape—Fixes the main index of the open variable group shape.
Scalable Group
Use the Scalable commands to set labels and ports to rigid or scalable.
Ports—Click the arrow to select and set ports to be rigid or scalable.
Select Rigid Ports—Highlights rigid ports on the sheet.
Select Scalable Ports—Highlights scalable ports on the sheet.
Set Ports Rigid—Sets all ports to rigid.
Set Ports Scalable—Sets all ports to scalable.
Label—Click the arrow to select and set labels to be rigid or scalable.
Select Rigid Labels—Highlights rigid labels on the sheet.
Select Scalable Labels—Highlights scalable labels on the sheet.
Set Labels Rigid—Sets all labels to rigid.
Set Labels Scalable—Sets all labels to scalable.
Scenery Group
Use the Scenery commands to set and move scenery.
Lock—Click the arrow to lock shapes or scenery.
Scene—Closes the shape to edit scenery.
Shape—Opens the shape and closes scenery.
Move—Click the arrow to move shapes to scenery or geometry to a shape.
Move to Shape—Moves the selected geometry to the shape.
Move to Scene—Moves the selected geometry to the scenery.
Cross Reference Group
Use the Cross Reference commands to work with cross-referenced group shapes.
Associate Cross-reference—Opens the Select a cross reference shape dialog box.
Break Link—Breaks the a association to the cross-referenced group shape.
Close
Use the Close Sheet command to close the Catalog sheet.
