Saving a FEM Mesh—Topology Optimization
There are two ways to save an FEM mesh:
Click Home > Mesh > Save FEM Mesh to manually save the mesh. The system automatically assigns the default name of model.fmp(a) to the mesh file. The .fmp(a) file stores the mesh only. It does not store other model properties.
If you want to assign a file name other than the default, set the fem_allow_named_mesh_files configuration option in the configuration option file. Then when you click Home > Mesh > Save FEM Mesh the system prompts you to enter a file name each time you click the command. You can assign any file name that fits the established guidelines. With the fem_allow_named_mesh_files option set, the system allows you to select the named mesh file you want to load when you click Home > Mesh > Save FEM Mesh.
You can set the fem_mesh_auto_save configuration option to automatically save a mesh immediately after you create it. For automatic saves, the software always assigns a name of model.fmp for the mesh file of a part.
