Hyperelastic Material
Hyperelastic materials, such as rubber, are nonlinear materials that exhibit instantaneous elastic response to large strains. You can use these materials if you want to perform large deformation analysis for any model. Select Hyperelastic as a Sub Type on the Structure tab of Material Definition dialog box, to define a hyperelastic material.
Creo Simulate supports several different mathematical models of hyperelastic material. The accuracy of the simulation depends on the selection of the material model. You can choose a material model in two ways.
Define By Tests—Use this option to choose a material model using experimental data for stress and strain. Select the Define By Tests check box on the Structure tab of Material Definition dialog box and click Edit. The Hyperelastic Material Definition dialog box appears. Use this dialog box to specify the stress and strain values and find the best fitting model for the data.
Material Model Coefficients—Alternatively, you can specify the values of coefficients for a material model to define a hyperelastic material. Clear the Define By Tests check box. Select one of the following material model in the Material Model area of the Material Definition dialog box and specify the values of coefficients for the model.
Arruda-Boyce
Mooney-Rivlin
Neo-Hookean (Default)
Polynomial Order 2
Reduced Poly. Order 2
Yeoh
You can specify the Coeff. of Thermal Expansion for the hyperelastic material.
