Creating Weighted Links (FEM mode)
Click Refine Model > Weighted Link to open the Weighted Link Definition dialog box and define a weighted link. To fully define the link, you must assign it a name and specify the following on the Weighted Link Definition dialog box:
Independent Side—Specify the location of the target nodes that receive a mass or load distributed from a source node. If you have selected the valid geometric references for the independent side before opening the Weighted Link Definition dialog box, your selections appear in the reference collector when the dialog box opens.
CSYSWorld (WCS) is selected by default. To use a different coordinate system click Selected or Nodal. The chosen coordinate system overrides the default WCS or the displacement coordinate system that you have assigned using the Mesh Control dialog box.

* If you output to NASTRAN, conflicts between coordinate systems may occur.
Degrees of Freedom—Specify the degrees of freedom for the independent reference entity.
Dependent Side—Specify a single point or vertex as a source point to apply a load or a mass to be distributed.
Select Selected or Nodal coordinate systems for the dependent side or retain the default WCS.
Note that if you change the references or delete a weighted link that has already been meshed, Creo Simulate automatically erases the mesh.
After you create your weighted link, Creo Simulate displays two icons on the model—one for the weighted link and another for the degrees of freedom.

* To display the weighted links that are defined in the FEM mode, in the native mode, you must select all the translational degrees of freedom and clear all the rotational degrees of freedom in the Weighted Link Definition dialog box.
