About Selection in Creo Flexible Modeling
When you create a Creo Flexible Modeling feature you modify or move design objects or surfaces.
Selection in Tools that Modify Sheet Metal Design Objects
You can select design objects to edit before or after you enter a tool. When you select items before you enter a tool, you can only select sheet metal design objects. You can use Box Selection or set the Smart Filter to Sheet Metal Items to easily select design objects. The relevant command for the selected items appears in the mini toolbar. You can select the design objects automatically or manually after entering the tool. When you use manual selection, you can select geometry applicable for the tool even when it is not a recognized design object.

* To use the smart filter for parts created prior to Creo Parametric release 4.0, or for non-native parts you must first recognize sheet metal objects.
Selection in Tools that Modify Surfaces
When you modify surfaces in the part, you can select surfaces before you enter the tool. Select a surface and use the Shapes commands to quickly select shape surface sets.
Colors of Geometry Available for Selection
When you enter the Recognition tools, design objects and geometry available for selection highlight in different colors. The color for recognized Sheet Metal design objects is the Sheet metal color set in the System Appearance tab of the Creo Parametric Options dialog box.
