Setting the Value of Y Factor and K Factor
You can set Y factor and K factor to control the bend allowance of a sheet metal part using the following methods:
Using sheet metal part parameters:
SMT_PART_BEND_ALLOW_FACTOR_TYPE—Sets Y factor or K factor as the bend allowance factor type.
SMT_PART_BEND_ALLOWANCE_FACTOR—Sets the value of Y factor or K factor.
These parameters can also be set using the Bend Allowance area of the Sheetmetal Preferences dialog box.
Creating feature-specific bend allowance using the Bend Allowance tab of sheet metal tools when available.
Using the Miscellaneous tab of the Material Definition dialog box when the SMT_UPDATE_BEND_ALLOW_INFO parameter is set to Yes. Type a new factor value in the Initial Bend Y-Factor box. The material assigned to the part drives the Y factor, K factor, and bend table, which update when a new material is assigned to the part.
You can also set the part material to drive bend allowance using the Bend Allowance area of the Sheetmetal Preferences dialog box. Click Use assigned material to define the value of the bend allowance parameters.

* The parameters are driven by part relations. If you change the relations it might break association between the parameters and the value of the Y factor assigned to the part material.
