Part Modeling > Engineering Features > Round > To Create an Extended Surface Round

To Create an Extended Surface Round
1. Click Model > Round. The Round tab opens.
2. Select one or more edges in the model to be rounded. The selected edge or edges appear in the References collector in the Sets tab, and a new round set is created.

You can also select the edges to be rounded in the graphics window before clicking Model > Round.
To select more than one edge for the current round set, hold down the CTRL key and select the edges in the graphics window.
Selecting an edge without holding down the CTRL key adds a new round set.
You can also select intent chains or construct chains to be used as a reference.
3. Specify the radius for the round on the Round tab or under Radius on the Sets tab. Alternatively, drag the radius handle in the graphics window to change the radius.
4. Click the Sets tab and select Extend Surfaces.
5. For solid models, click the Options tab and select Surface to create the attachment type as surface.  For quilts, click the Options tab and select New quilt to create the attachment type as a new quilt.

* By default, the system sets the attachment type to Solid for solid models and Same quilt for quilts.
6. To cap the sides of the newly created surface, click the Options tab and select the Create end surfaces check box.

Create end surfaces is available only if you select Surface as the attachment type for solid models or New quilt as the attachment type for quilts.
The system uses existing model geometry that can be extended to cap surfaces. If there are no surfaces to extend, geometry is not capped, even if the you select the Create end surfaces check box.
7. Click . The system extends the neighboring surfaces to close the gaps and creates the round feature.
