To Create a Datum Axis Normal to a Surface Using Two Offset References
1. Click
Model >
Axis. The
Datum Axis dialog box opens.
2. In the graphics window, select a surface. The surface appears in the References collector, with the constraint type set to Normal.
A preview of the datum axis normal to the selected surface appears with a placement handle and two offset reference handles appear on the surface.
3. Click the Offset references collector and in the graphics window, select two references such as a plane, a planar surface, or straight edges, or drag the offset reference handles to the references.
4. Click OK.
