To Break, Restore, Remove, and Reestablish the Dependency of a Mirror Feature
This topic discusses the following:
Break and Restore Dependency
Remove and Reestablish Dependency
Missing Source Features
You can break, restore, remove, and reestablish dependency for fully dependent mirrored features. You can identify mirrored features that are fully dependent on the original feature by their labels, for example, Mirrored Extrude 4.
Break and Restore Dependency
Breaking dependency temporarily switches off the dependence of the selected feature or geometry on the original feature.
To temporarily break dependency, select a fully dependent mirrored feature in the Model Tree, and right-click and choose Copied Feature > Break dependence.
To restore dependency, select the previously dependent mirrored feature in the Model Tree, right-click and choose Copied Feature > Restore dependence.
Remove and Reestablish Dependency
Removing dependency removes the dependency of the mirrored feature on the original feature. To remove dependency, perform one of these actions:
Clear the Dependent Copy check box on the Options tab.
Select a fully-dependent mirror feature in the Model Tree, and right-click and choose Copied Feature > Remove dependence.
When you remove dependency and close the Mirror tab, you can reestablish dependency:
1. In the Model Tree, right-click the Mirror feature and choose Edit Definition.
2. Select the Reapply Mirror check box.
3. To add features to or remove features from the Mirror feature, select the References tab, select the Mirror items collector, and perform one of the following actions:
To add features to the Mirror feature, hold down the CTRL key while you select features in the graphics window or Model Tree.
To remove features from the Mirror feature, select the features to remove in the Mirror items collector, and right-click and choose Remove.
4. On the Options tab, select the Dependent Copy check box. To make the mirrored copy partially dependent on the original features, select the Partially dependent - Dimensions and AE Details only option. Only the dimensions and annotation element details of the copied features are dependent on the original features.
Missing Source Features
When you edit the definition of a Mirror feature, and the Mirror feature contains a source feature or geometry that has been deleted or suppressed, the following things happen:
In the Mirror items collector, the label missing appears next to the feature type of the deleted or suppressed item.
When you select the Reapply Mirror check box and close the Mirror tab, you receive a warning that source features are missing, and the Mirror feature will be deleted.
