To Create a Designated Area
1. Click Model > Engineering > Designated Area. The Designated Area tab opens.
2. Define the borders of the designated area by selecting a chain set of edges and curves.
3. Set the designated area placement options:
(default)—Places the designated area on a solid model.
—Places the designated area on a quilt.
—Places the designated area on a plane.
4. To add a chain set, click the References tab, click Add Set, and select a chain of edges and curves.
5. To delete a chain set, right-click the set to be deleted and choose Remove from the shortcut menu. When working in the graphics window, you can right-click and choose a relevant command from the shortcut menu.
 
You can add another chain set only when the previously created chain set is fully defined.
To review and edit chain set properties, select a chain set and click Details.
6. To flip the direction of the designated area, click .
7. To change the name of the designated area, click the Properties tab and type the name in the Name box.
8. Click to create the Designate Area feature.
