You create a parallel blend by using at least two planar sections that are parallel to each other. The sections are joined together at their edges with transitional surfaces to form a continuous feature.

The sections can be sketched or selected. Use the Sketched sections option to sketch sections or use sections that were sketched before you enter the Blend tool. Use the Selected sections option to select chains to form sections. If the first section in the blend is an internal or an external sketch, then the rest of the sections in the blend must be internal sketches. If the first section is defined by selecting chains, the rest of the sections must also be selected.

The sketch plane for the sketched sections can be defined by using an offset value from another sketched section or by using a reference. The first and last section can be defined as a point.

A projected parallel blend contains two sections that lie on the same planar surface or datum plane. The sections are projected normal to the sketching plane onto two different solid surfaces. The first section is projected on the first surface selected, and the second section is projected on the second surface selected. Each projected section must fall completely within the boundaries of its selected surface.

A projected parallel blend cannot intersect other surfaces.
