About the Symmetry Recognition Feature
In Creo Flexible Modeling, you can select geometry or geometry and a datum plane and use the Symmetry Recognition tool to identify geometry that is symmetrically identical or similar to your selection. When you save the identified geometry, a Symmetry Recognition feature is created. You can manipulate the geometry in the Symmetry Recognition feature as a unit.
A Symmetry Recognition feature can have two possible sets of references.
When you select one seed surface or surface region and a plane of symmetry, the symmetrical surface or surface region on the other side of the symmetry plane is identified. The surfaces or surface regions connected to the selected seed surfaces that are symmetric in relation to the symmetry plane are also identified as part of the feature.
When you select two seed surfaces or surface regions that are symmetrically identical or similar, a plane of symmetry is identified. The surfaces or surface regions connected to the selected seed surfaces that are symmetric in relation to the symmetry plane are also identified as part of the feature.
All the surfaces or surface regions on one side of the symmetry plane define an instance.
