About Using the Grid
To access the grid functionality, click View > Draft Grid. The GRID MODIFY menu displays the following:
Show Grid—Displays the grid.
Hide Grid—Blanks the grid.
Type—Changes the grid type to Cartesian or Polar.
Origin—Relocates the grid origin.
Grid Params—Modifies the grid spacing and angle.
Modifying Grid Spacing
To modify the spacing and angle of the grid, use Grid Params in the GRID MODIFY menu. The commands available depend on the type of grid. The values for the grid spacing are saved and retrieved with the drawing.
For a Cartesian grid, the following are available in the CART PARAMS menu:
X&Y Spacing—Sets the spacing in both X- and Y- directions to the same value.
X Spacing—Sets the X-spacing only.
Y Spacing—Sets the Y-spacing only.
Angle—Modifies the angle between a horizontal and the X-direction of the grid.
For a Polar grid, the following are available in the POLAR PARAMS menu:
Ang Spacing—Sets the angular spacing between radial lines. The value entered must divide evenly into 360.
Num Lines—Sets the number of lines to use. The angular spacing is 360/number of lines.
Rad Spacing—Modifies the radial spacing of the circular grid.
Angle—Modifies the angle between a horizontal and the 0-degree radial line.
