To Move the Origin of the Grid
You can locate the grid origin at one of the following:
• Sketched entity endpoint or center
• Sketched point
• Datum point
1. Click View > Draft Grid. The GRID MODIFY menu appears.
2. Click Origin on the GRID MODIFY menu.
3. Select the type of entity to set the origin:
◦ Get Point—Enables you to pick a point to be the origin.
◦ Edge/Entity—Picks a point on an entity.
◦ Default—Uses the default grid origin.
4. Locate the origin of the grid.
When moving the grid origin, keep in mind the following:
◦ The grid origin and angle affect the coordinate values entered for a geometry point, for instance, when you use the Get Point menu. The X-axis is always along one direction of the grid; the Y-axis is always along the other.
◦ The grid origin affects the coordinate values displayed in the Message Window when sketching.
