To Perform a Draft Check
The procedure below is to perform a draft check on a mold or cast reference model with a defined draft. For more information on draft check in a part and on the Color Scale dialog box, click the Related Topics link below.
1. On the Mold, or Cast tab, click Draft. The Draft Analysis dialog box opens.
2. Click in the Surface collector and select solid geometry, a surface, or a closed quilt from the reference model. The Color Scale dialog box opens.
3. When the pull direction is the direction defined in the Mold or Cast cavity, it is considered by default.
4. Click Flip to flip the indicated direction.
5. Accept the default draft angle or type a new one.
 
* You can modify the angle values in the color plot or change the color scale settings to specify different values for the display angles.
6. Click OK to complete the analysis or Cancel to cancel the analysis. Alternatively, click Repeat to start a new analysis.
7. To save the analysis perform the following steps:
a. Select Save from the list at the bottom of the Draft Analysis dialog box to save the analysis with the model and to dynamically update and display the analysis while modeling.
b. Accept the default name or type a new name in the box next to the list.
