Guidelines for Splitting Volumes
To successfully split a volume, perform the following actions:
Review the reference part for geometry issues, such as problematic edges, vertices, slivers, and gaps. Remove or repair the geometry.
Use absolute accuracy or match the accuracy of the mold assembly, workpiece, and reference model to the accuracy of the design part.
Remove or repair any holes and open loops in the parting surface.
Check the parting surface for self intersection and holes by clicking Mold > Analysis > Parting Surface Check or clicking Cast > Analysis > Parting Surface Check. Fix any problematic areas.
If a split failure occurs, follow the recommended actions in the Troubleshooter dialog box.
