About Integrating Creo Modelcheck with a PDM System
You can exchange information about a model between Creo ModelCHECK and a PDM system. Creo ModelCHECK Gatekeeper is a Windchill capability that uses Creo ModelCHECK results to allow or prevent the check in of models to Windchill locations. Windchill allows you to check in a model only when the model meets the specified design standards. Additionally, you can store shape indexing results in the Windchill database as attributes of the CAD objects searched from Creo ModelCHECK . Creo ModelCHECK collects the information and passes this information through model parameters. This information is eventually stored in the Windchill attributes.
You can configure Creo ModelCHECK to update the following parameters in the model file when Creo ModelCHECK is run on the model after modifying the model:
MODEL_CHECK (string)—The date and time that Creo ModelCHECK was last run.
MC_ERRORS (integer)—The number of errors found.
MC_CONFIG (string)—The name or names of the configuration file or files used.
MC_MODE (string)—The mode in which Creo ModelCHECK was run; Interactive, Regenerate, Save, or Batch.

* You can view the values of these parameters but not change them. If the parameters are not available in the model, Creo ModelCHECK adds them regardless of whether the model has been modified or not.
You can set the following preferences in Windchill to validate Creo ModelCHECK configurations and results:
Creo Modelcheck Configuration (string)—Specifies the Creo ModelCHECK configuration files to be used for the validation of each lifecycle name in a specific syntax. The configuration specified by Default lifecycle name is the default behavior.
Creo Modelcheck Number of Errors (integer)—Specifies the maximum number of Creo ModelCHECK errors allowed. The default is zero.
Creo Modelcheck Number of Hours (integer)—Specifies the maximum number of hours allowed between the Creo ModelCHECK verification of a model at the client and the check in of the model to Windchill. The default is 24 hours.
Creo Modelcheck Validation (Boolean)—Specifies whether to perform Creo ModelCHECK validation at check in. The default is NO.
These Windchill preferences are disabled and locked at the site level by default. For optimum performance, you must enable these preferences only at the site level.
You can configure Creo ModelCHECK to use the Windchill database to store the shape information for models. The shape information is stored in five mass property parameters (PRO_MP_VOLUME, PRO_MP_AREA, PRO_MP_IXX, PRO_MP_IYY, and PRO_MP_IZZ) and used during the search for duplicate models. These parameters are available in the model when the model is created. Creo ModelCHECK designates these parameters and updates their values if you set the WC_DUPINFO configuration option in the config_init.mc file to Y.
