Specifying Manufacturing Parameters for Multitasking Tools
When you select a multitasking tool, using the following Creo NC parameters you can specify the tool details:
TOOL_TYPE—Specifies the type of tool. You must set the value to MULTI-TASK.
NUM_OF_TIPS—Specifies the number of tips in the solid model.
SOLID_TOOL_CUTTING—Specifies the part in the tool assembly that includes the cutting edge. Use this parameter for all parts in a multitasking tool that have a cutting edge.
TIPx_CUTTING—Specifies which component of a solid model includes the cutting edge for a specific tip, where x identifies the tip and TIP_CUTTING is specified as a component-level parameter. Use this parameter in conjunction with the SOLID_TOOL_CUTTING parameter when the same subassembly in a solid model is assembled multiple times, each time with a different cutting tip. The TIPx_CUTTING parameter uniquely identifies the subassembly that includes the current tip and the cutting edge.
GOUGE_AVOID_TYPE—Calculates gouge avoidance with respect to the tip and both cutting sides of the tool regardless of whether you set the value of the parameter to TIP_&_SIDES or TIP_ONLY.
TIPx_ANGULAR_OFFSET—Represents the rotation about the axis of the holder for each tool tip. TIP or TIP1 is the zero position for the angular offset. You cannot edit these values in the Tools Setup dialog box.
GAUGE_X_LENGTH—Specifies the gauge length of the tip along the X-axis. You cannot edit these values in the Tools Setup dialog box.
GAUGE_Z_LENGTH—Specifies the gauge length of the tip along the Z-axis. You cannot edit these values in the Tools Setup dialog box.
