Example: Integrating Different Iterations of a Model in Creo Parametric
This example explains the integration procedure in a concurrent engineering environment with three users, User A, User B, and User C.
Initiating the Integrate process
1. User A checks out a base model from the Windchill server, while users B and C start a Creo Parametric session and retrieve the model to which the changes are to be made.
2. Users B and C download the same iteration of that model to their respective workspaces.
3. User A locally modifies the model.
4. When user B tries to modify the model in the local workspace, Windchill displays a message to confirm if the user B wants to check out the model or continue to make changes to the local copy of the model.
5. User B chooses to continue to make changes to the model in the local workspace.
6. User A completes the changes and checks in the part into the Windchill server. Users B and C get a message from the server that the part in their respective local workspaces is out of date and that the part has been modified.
7. On confirming that the model is checked in by user A, user B starts the integration process in the workspace by clicking File > Open > Update and Integrate. The Integrate window opens, displaying information about the dissimilar features corresponding to the base or comparison object for the revision of objects.
Integrating Changes
1. Under Change List in the Integrate window, user B selects the required integration action from the Action list next to the feature that the user wants to retain in or delete from the result model.
2. User B clicks the Attach Integrate Results to the model check box to store the integration report with the result model. This report contains the integration actions performed on the model or part and the changes in the base and comparison models.

* A report containing only the features and integration actions that are specified in the Change List section is attached and preserved with the resultant model.
3. User B clicks Execute to integrate the changes in the base and the comparison models.

* Execute does not save the result model.
4. User B clicks Finish to save the changes to the model, stop further integration of changes, and quit the integration process.
5. User B clicks Close to close all the comparison models renamed by the integration operation and erase them from the session, keeping the base model open in the active session.
6. User B checks out the integrated model, and checks it in to save the changed model on the Windchill server.
7. On confirming that the model is checked in, User C clicks File > Open > Update and Integrate to start the integration process in the workspace and then integrates the changes as described in steps 1 through 6..
