About Selecting Entities Using the 2D Box
You must drag the 2D box across a specific area in the graphics window to select entities that lie within or across the 2D box. The following are the two ways of dragging the 2D box:
Drag the 2D box from left to right — Creates a rectangular plane. Entities that lie inside the box are selected.
Drag the 2D box from right to left — Creates a dotted rectangle. Entities that lie within or across the boundaries of the box are selected.
You cannot use the 2D box to select vertices, features and intent objects. The Status bar displays the names of entities that you selected using the 2D box.
With the 2D box, you can select multiple quilts, surfaces, and curves as follows:
When you select multiple quilts, the surfaces and edges of the quilts are not selected.
When you select multiple surfaces, the edges of the surfaces are not selected.
When you select multiple curves, the components of the curves are not selected.
