Scenario 3: To Add a Standard Component from 3DModelSpace
You can add a standard component to your model by accessing online catalogs and opening the selected part in Creo.
1. In Creo, retrieve an assembly from the workspace.
2. Click the Favorites folder.
3. Click Personal Favorites and expand the Online Resources folder.
4. Click 3DModelSpace if you did not configure to display the 3DModelSpace tab by default in the Creo browser. The 3DModelSpace page opens with a list of products. Each product is provided a describing keyword with hyperlinks.
5. Right-click a keyword and access Add to Favorites to add to the Online Resources node through the Add a Favorite dialog box.
6. Use a keyword to search for the CAD model or click the keyword. The search results list the catalogs or products with hyperlinks to the CAD models.
7. Click the hyperlink of a catalog or a product. The home page for the catalog or the product opens.
8. Browse the catalog and select a component type.
9. Specify a search criteria in Search or access the Search by Specifications hyperlink to retrieve the component by its product number and dimensions from the home page of the component type.
10. Right-click a component number in the Product Number column of the component specifications table and click Add to Favorites to add the hyperlink of the component to the Online Resources node.
11. Click the product number of a component and click Download CAD and save to a specified folder or directory. You can also view the details of the component before you download the component.
12. Click View 3D Model to display the model in a separate window.
13. Assemble the downloaded component in the assembly retrieved from workspace.
14. After you assemble the component, you can check in the assembly to Windchill using File > Check In > Custom Check In.
