To Validate Proposed Design Changes
1. Open an ECAD assembly.
2. Click Applications > ECAD Collaboration. The ECAD - MCAD Collaboration tab opens.
3. Click Launch Validate. Creo View ECAD Validate opens in a separate window.
4. Click File > Open in Creo View ECAD Validate. The Open dialog box opens with Type set to EDMD (*.idx).
5. Browse and select an IDX file that contains the comparison data of the active ECAD assembly. The Transaction Summary frame lists the transactions as nodes and branches.
6. Select a transaction node. The Transactions List displays the object data of the expanded node as individual transactions.
7. Select a transaction or multiple contiguous or noncontiguous transactions. Transaction Attributes and Transaction History display the attributes and the history of the changed object.
8. Select on the tool bar. Alternatively, select one or more transactions, right-click and choose Cross-Select or click Communicate > Cross-Select Transaction. The selected object highlights in red in the Creo Parametric graphics window.
9. Preview the design states of the selected transaction in Creo Parametric using the following options from the tool bar of Creo View ECAD Validate:
—Displays the moved, modified, or added objects in their current state in orange. Also available as Preview First Item when you right-click the transaction in the Transactions List or click Communicate > Preview First Item Transaction on the menu bar.

* Deleted components are not displayed in the preview of the current design state.
—Displays the moved, modified, or deleted objects in their compare to state in blue. You can also right-click the transaction in the Transactions List and choose Preview Second Item or click Communicate > Preview Second Item Transaction.

* Added components are not displayed in the preview of the compare to design and reset design states.
10. Right-click the transaction and choose Reset Tool Database or click Communicate > Reset Tool Database to view the original design state of the moved, modified, or deleted object in the Creo Parametric database color.
11. Select the following options on the tool bar to visually distinguish the object data associated with the transaction selected for the cross-highlight:
(Zoom To)—Zooms into focus the objects associated with the selected transaction. Multiple objects are zoomed into focus in a fit-to-screen manner.
(Cross-Hair)—Places a cross-hair on the objects associated with the selected transaction.
(Isolate)—Removes graphics not related to the objects associated with the selected transaction and isolates them from all other object data in the design.
12. Click File > Launch Creo View to cross-select the selected objects into the current or the compare to design in Creo View ECAD.
13. Click File > Save in Creo View ECAD Validate to save transaction changes to the IDX file.
14. Click File > Close.
