To switch between symbol and text in a repeat region table, click Table > Format > 
Switch Symbols. All repeat regions revert to their symbol entries. Click this command again to toggle the display back to text. Alternatively, use the Switch Syms command on the TBL REGIONS menu that appears when you click 
Repeat Region to perform the same operation.
