To Refresh the Connection to the 3D Model
To refresh the model-drawing association, click Update Sheets, Update Draft, or Update Tables in the Review tab.
To regenerate a drawing model, click Regenerate Active Model in the Review tab.
Update Sheets—Updates views on selected sheets in the drawing with any recent model changes. If you do not select a sheet, views in the current sheet are updated with any recent model changes.
Update Draft—Updates associative draft dimensions and note arrows.
Update Drawing View—Updates a particular view with any recent model changes.
Update Tables—Updates all the tables in a drawing including hole tables.
Regenerating the Model from the Drawing
If graphics are not updating in the drawing, you can force a regeneration of the model from the drawing without opening the model file. There are two levels for this process: an update or a regeneration.
Review > Update Draft—Updates all values from the model but does not physically regenerate the 3D model nor refresh the geometry in the drawings. This can help performance in updating symbols or GTOLS without a complete refresh of the drawing. Drawing dimensions that have changed in the model but are not regenerated are in a different color.
Review > Regenerate Active Model—Regenerates the model and then refreshes the geometry in the drawing. When you use this command for an assembly or model with multiple parts, the PRT TO REGEN menu opens on the Menu Manager. You can choose the extent of the regeneration. Choose an option depending on the size of the file or the speed of your computer:
Select—Regenerates one or more selected parts. You can select multiple parts from the Model Tree. Click Done on the Menu Manager when you are finished.
Automatic—Updates all parts that have been changed in the model.
