About Backing Up Models in Design Exploration
When you want to share the TMU file with a user who does not have access to the same iterations of the original models, it is advised to store the TMU file with full backups. The TMU file can be stored in Windchill PDM as primary or secondary content.
Use the following commands to include the initial models and unmodified models in the TMU file.
To backup all models in session when you are working in a Design Exploration session:
Click .
To automatically add all retrieved models to the TMU backup:
In the Environment page of the Creo Parametric Options dialog box, click the Back up models in session when starting and during Design Exploration session option.
Remember the following about working with full backups:
Do not use full backups when you are working in a linked session. When you open a saved Design Exploration session, the system looks for models by name in the backed-up content of the TMU file. When a model is not found it continues to specified search paths, the working directory or workspace, and common space. Full backups can cause a name conflict with objects already in the PDM system.
Use full backups in order to share your Design Exploration files with users who do not have access to your models on the same file system or in Windchill.
