To Add a New Fastener Type
1. Open the fastener instance catalog file in which you want to add the new fastener.
2. Add the name of the fastener to the #screws, #washers, #nuts, #inserts, or #pins section, depending on the type of your fastener.
3. Browse to the folder <creo_loadpoint>\Common Files\afx\configuration\types and search for the template of your type.
4. Copy the template files listed below to the folder FOLDER_FOR_FASTENER_DATA in the directory PATH_ABS_LIBRARY.
Template part—*.prt
Fastener data file—*.dat
Fastener icon—*_icon.png. Copy the fastener icon only if you want to use a custom icon.
5. Rename the template files to the name of your fastener.
6. Open the fastener data file and add your instances.
The following example shows how to add a new screw of the type screw_01, with the name MY_SCREW01, to the mm catalog.
1. Copy the template files and rename to MY_SCREW01.prt and MY_SCREW01.dat.
2. Add MY_SCREW01 to the fastener instance catalog file, mm.txt.

3. Change the value for INFO to My Screw 01 and add three instances to the fastener data file, MY_SCREW01.dat.
