To Create an Advanced Joint
1. Click Framework > Advanced Joints. The Advanced Joints dialog box opens.
2. Click .
3. Click the icon for the type of joint that you want to define. Under References the first reference collector is activated. The label for this collector varies, depending on the type of joint you are defining:
Model to cut for a Cutout joint
Model to trim for a Planar Trim joint
Surface to replace for a Replace Surface joint
4. To create a joint with an offset select the With offset check box and type the offset values in the boxes.
5. In the model, select the first reference for the joint. Under References, the second reference collector is activated. The label for this collector varies, depending on the type of joint you are defining:
Reference model for cut for a Cutout joint
Reference plane for trim operation for a Planar Trim joint
Attachment surface for a Replace Surface joint
6. In the model, select the second reference second reference for the joint. A preview of the joint is displayed.
7. If you are creating a Replace Surface joint, with the normal cut along the intersection line, the Planar surface to define intersection box is activated. In the model select a planar surface to define the intersection. A preview of the joint is displayed.
8. Click one of the options listed below to continue:
OK to complete joint creation and close the dialog box.
Repeat to complete joint creation without closing the dialog box and continue with creating another joint.
Cancel to cancel joint creation and close the dialog box.
