To Assemble, Reuse, Modify, or Replace Equipment Elements
The commands for equipment elements work identically to the commands for connector elements.
To assemble a new equipment element from the library, follow the steps below:
1. Click Framework > New Equipment Element. The New Component dialog box opens.
2. Click to select the new equipment element from the library.
3. In the Material list, select a material.
4. Click Next to proceed with assembling the equipment. The Element Definition dialog box opens.
5. In the Element Definition dialog box, if required, select references or define equipment.
To reuse, modify, or replace an equipment element follow the steps below:
1. Select the element to reuse, modify, or replace following either of the methods listed below:
Click Framework and then in the Components group click one of the commands described below:
—Reuses an existing equipment instance.
—Modifies the equipment element
—Replaces the equipment element with a copy of itself.
In the model, select an equipment element. The Element Definition dialog box opens.
Select an equipment element in the model and then click Framework. Click one of the three commands listed above, or right-click and select one of these commands. The Element Definition dialog box opens.
2. Select references or define equipment in the Element Definition dialog box, if required. To cancel the definition process, click Close.
 
* If you are assembling a copy of an equipment element instance, the Copy Component Definition dialog box opens. You can then define a new name and the copied subcomponents of the equipment.
