Manipulating Sectioning Planes
Manipulate sectioning planes in the following ways:
Manipulating 3D Sectioning Planes

Result
In the graphics area
Select the plane and click Home > Transform or press F3.
Moves the plane along the selected axis.
Select the plane and click Home > Transform > Free Rotation or press CTRL+F3.
Rotates the plane in the selected direction.
Click the arrow in Home > Preset Section, and select an axis.
In the Preset Section panel of the Model > Sectioning option, select a default or active view axis, and then select it’s viewing and up directions.
Places the plane along the selected axis.
In the Section Properties dialog box
Under Section Plane Orientation, click Set by Reference and select a reference in the graphics area.
Sets the orientation of the plane to match a reference, and optionally sets the positions of the plane at that reference point.
Under Section Plane Orientation, select the normal axis for the plane, type a normal vector, or rotate about a given axis.
Sets the orientation of the plane.
Under Section Plane Orientation, click Flip.
Flips the section view.
Under Intersecting Point Location, click Set by Reference and select a reference in the graphics area.
Positions the plane at a reference point.
Under Intersecting Point Location, select a translation direction and type a distance, or click or .
Translates the plane.
Manipulating 2D Sectioning Planes

Translates the plane in the direction that is normal to the plane.
Drag the slider.
Select the slider, and then press the UP or DOWN or LEFT and RIGHT arrow keys.
