Supporting NX with Model View States
NX 3D model view supports default or custom model views (Author States) for parts and assemblies that can include the following features:
• Section
• Explode states
• Component visibility (Show or hide)
• PMI (Product Manufacturing Information) visibility
• Model views (All and combined State)
• Orientation
To enable support for the conversion of Model View states from NX, set the following recipe options:
• Leave Output Author States on the Basic tab of the Recipe Editor in its default selected state.
• Under the > tab, select the features to enable.
◦ All States—Converts combined state Modeling Views.
◦ Sections—Converts sections defined in the respective part or assembly. These will be listed under > in Creo View. (Only single plane NX sections are supported).
◦ Explodes—Converts Explode States and Component Visibility for assemblies only. These will be listed under > in Creo View.
◦ Orientations—Converts different viewing orientations.
• The Adapter does not convert model views which contain only orientation and no sections, explodes, component visibility or PMI visibility. To enable conversion of all model views, use a text editor to add the recipe setting adapter/skipDefaultViews=0 directly in the Recipe file ug2pv.rcp.
• NX PMI conversion has the following limitations:
◦ No Multi-byte character support. Only ASCII characters in PMI annotations are converted.
◦ Text font information is not conserved.
◦ Different types of arrow heads are not converted. Only filled single arrow, unfilled single arrow, and open arrow are converted.
