The Windchill Viewable Compression Utilities executable is called pvsoptimize.exe on a Windows system and pvsoptimize on UNIX. In this section, it is referred to simply as pvsoptimize to apply to both operating systems.

When the Viewable Compression Utilities are deployed on a Windchill server, the related Creo View Adapters PVSOPTIMIZE related files are placed in the <Windchill>\wvs folder, alongside the Thumbnail Generator files (if also deployed), in a similar sub-folder structure to a Creo View Adapters installation.
