Setting Options on the Preparation Tab
Use the Preparation tab to set up the preparation method.
*
This tab is only available in admin mode.
Under Preparation you can select a preparation method to configure or you can create a new one.
To create a new preparation method, click New. The rcpedit — New Preparation dialog box opens. Type a name for the new preparation, then click OK. The new preparation method is added to the drop-down list.
To duplicate an existing preparation method, click Duplicate. The rcpedit — Duplicate Preparation dialog box opens. Type a name for the duplicate preparation, then click OK. The duplicated preparation method is added to the drop-down list.
To remove a preparation method, select it from the list and click Remove. The preparation method is removed.
To configure the preparation method, select from the options below:
Edge Welding—Sets the following options for edge welds:
Maximum Weld Distance (CH)—Sets the maximum allowed weld distance for edge welds (given as multiple of the Chord Height resolution).
Seam Welding—Sets the following options for seam welds:
Maximum Weld Distance (CH)—Sets the maximum allowed weld distance of seam welds (given as multiple of the Chord Height resolution).
Initial Maximum Angle (deg)—Sets the maximum allowed initial edge misalignment angle.
Continued Maximum Angle (deg)—Sets the maximum allowed edge misalignment angle after the first edge.
Force Normal Calculation—Forces the normalization of all polygonal geometry, removing any existing normals.
Generate Normal Calculation—Generates normals for any geometry without, keeping any existing normals.
Normalize Angle Tolerance (deg)—Sets the normalize angle tolerance used for generating any new normals.
Normal Welding—Sets to weld any existing normals.
Weld Angle Tolerance (deg)—Sets the normal welding angle tolerance.
Remove Duplicate Geometry—Removes any duplicate triangles.
Remove Thin Triangles—Removes any very thin triangles which may cause shading anomalies.
Remove Small Triangles—Removes any small triangles which may cause shading anomalies.
Maximum Size (CH)—Sets the maximum size (or height) (given as multiples of the Chord Height resolution).
Orientation Correction—Sets the surface orientation flipping.
Assume Convex Geometry—Sets the re-oriented geometry so it is always outward facing.
Optimize Triangles Using Trifans—Sets the use of trifans when optimizing the output geometry.
Optimize Triangles Using Tristrips—Sets the use of tristrips when optimizing the output geometry.
Optimize Lines Using Polylines—Sets the use of polylines when optimizing the output geometry.
Maximum Strip Size—Sets the maximum number of vertices allowed in each trifan, tristrip, or polyline.
