Publishing Creo Parametric Author States
Author states are customized displays of 3D models based on the saved views in the authoring application. To publish author states, Output Author States on the Basic tab must be selected in the Recipe Editor. Then, on the Parameters > Author States tab, select the author states you want to include in the conversion to Creo View. By default, all states are selected. For the Creo View Adapter for Creo Parametric, you can choose to publish any of the following author states or a combined view:
Simplified Reps—Limits the details of a design by representing a component as a type of simplified representation or by including or excluding components.
Orientations—Sets the orientation, pan, and zoom positions.
Explodes—Displays an exploded view of the assembly (applies to assemblies only).
Pro/Process Sequences—Defines the assembly process actions as a sequence of steps.
Sections—Cuts away a section of a part of assembly to view a section of the model. There are three types of sections:
Planar—Defines a plane.
Offset—Extrudes a section outline perpendicular to the sketching plane. (See Offset limitations in table that follows.)
Zone—Defines multiple planes and sets the side of the planes to display (not supported).
Layer State—Publishes layers as selected in the Creo ParametricView Manager dialog box.
Appearance—Publishes the appearance defined and applied to the models in the top-level model.
All States—Publishes all defined author states, including annotations. For information about how files are loaded in Creo View, see To Set Loading Options .
For more information about Author States, in the Creo Parametric Help Center, under Assembly Design, see these topics:

Offset sections have the following limitations:
Transparent, phantom and highlighted items are not rendered by section cuts.
Drag selection is not supported.
Only geometry with closed volumes and single sided surfaces is supported.
Section cuts are visible in Shaded render mode only.
Offset sections and ordinary section planes are not supported together.
Section cuts display the default section color, not the part color.
