Introduction to ccmodel2pv
The Creo View Adapter for Creo Elements/Direct Modeling (CEDM) converts CEDM files to the format used by the Creo View client. The conversion process is generally referred to as publishing. Before you can publish Direct Modeling data, you must configure the Creo View Adapter for Creo Elements/Direct Modeling using the ccmodel2pv_config tool. See Using ccmodel2pv_config for further information.
There are two ways to publish direct modeling data:
Command line publishing. This method is described in Command Line Publishing for Creo Elements/Direct Modeling.
Server controlled publishing—The adapter runs without direct user intervention in the background as needed. This method is described in Server Controlled Publishing for Creo Elements/Direct Modeling.

After a conversion is completed, the Creo View Adapter for Creo Elements/Direct Modeling places the files into a specified directory from which you can access and view them using the Creo View client.
In Creo Elements/Direct Modeling 20.4 and later, performance improvements are incorporated by using the same session of CEDM to publish multiple subsequent jobs. This improvement also inherits most of the common Creo View adapter capabilities that were not available in earlier releases, such as:
You can use the recipe options to control restart of the worker after publishing a certain number of jobs or for specific errors.
Controlling long and short worker time-out.
More details in the worker log and the job monitor logs.
Recipe options listed under Advanced > File Naming, and Advanced > System are supported. For more information, see Setting Options on the File Naming Subtab and Setting Options on the System Subtab.
