Workflow and Tips for Performing ECAD Comparisons
1. Select two viewables to compare:
Right-click the first viewable in the Viewables tab. If the second viewable is loaded in the session, select Compare With, and then select the name of the second viewable.
Select two viewables to compare, right-click, and then select Compare Selected.
To compare with a viewable that is not loaded, select Compare With > Browse to browse to the second viewable.

To compare viewables from Windchill, first load both viewables into one session of Creo View, and then right-click to select them. For instructions on adding a viewable, see To Add a Viewable to the Session.

2. In the Compare Items dialog box, determine the direction of you comparison. Note that the Second Item shows the changes to the First Item. To change the direction of the comparison, click .

3. Click OK. The Quick Results appear. For tips on inspecting the Quick Results, see Tips for Inspecting ECAD Comparison Results.
4. After you review the Quick Results, you can run the full comparison to get the Full Results. In the ribbon, select a Preset Configuration.

Although you can manually select settings for the comparison, it is best practice to use a Preset Configuration. If you need custom comparison settings, modify an existing preset configuration. For more information, see To Customize a Configuration.
5. Click Compare > Run Compare:
In the status bar, a progress bar shows the progress of the operation.
In the upper data panel, the Compare Results tab opens, and the results appear as the comparison progresses.
In the lower data panel, the Difference Details tab opens.
When the operation is complete, a dialog box shows a summary of the results.
