About Loading Creo Unite Technology Files
Creo Unite Technology files are 3D CAD files that contain both Creo Parametric and other 3D CAD file types.
The following 3D CAD file types are supported:
SolidWorks — *.sldasm,*.sldprt
CATIA V5 — *.cgr,*.CATPart,*.CATProduct
NX —*.prt
Inventor — *.iam, *.ipt
Creo/Elements Direct Modeling — *.sdac, *.sdpc
Creo Parametric automatically generates Creo Unite Technology files and saves them as *.prt and *.asm files alongside wrapper files you can open in Creo View. These wrapper files are formatted as filename.extension.creo in the assembly directory on your local disk, and function like any other file.
In Windchill, wrapper files are formatted as filename.creo and are stored as secondary content alongside the original files.
To increase the speed of the loading process, Creo View prioritizes Creo Unite Technology files over native content.
