About Structures with Duplicate ID’s for Child Components
At the same assembly level, a structure may contain duplicate part IDs for child components. This occurs when opening a file or expanding branch links in standalone Creo View.
When there is a duplication, temporary unique suffixes are automatically-generated and coupled with the original ID for each instance, and the structure opens. In the open structure, you can then find the occurrences and change instances. You also receive a message advising you not to continue working on the structure. If you do continue to work on the structure, inconsistencies may occur. You can use the Search tool to find and edit instances of duplicate ids. You cannot work on the file, until duplicated ids are edited to make the IDs unique.
