Splitting Business Object for Visualization
In CADDS 5, Business Objects are groups of end items in a single unit in the product structure. The groups are revision-controlled parts and are managed through a life cycle. For example, a design for a ship might contain a pipeline. Within that pipeline are numerous sections of pipe, pipe spools, valves, and other parts. Each of those parts is an end item, and the pipeline as a whole is a Business Object.
To publish Business Objects to Windchill and to visualize them in Creo View, you must configure some parts for splitting for use by the Creo View Adapter for CADDS 5.
To configure CADDS 5 parts for splitting, follow these steps:
1. Open the Recipe Editor.
2. Click Parameters. On the Parameters tab, click Split. The Split tab opens.
3. Select objects in the Available Attributes column and click the arrow to add them to the Selected Attributes column. Include Pipe, Gasket, and NFig in the Selected Attributes.

Do not select Color or Layer for splitting.
