To Change the Link Update Policy after Import
Follow the instructions below to change the link update policy for previously imported and linked content.
1. In the ribbon Tools tab, click Edit Structure.
2. In the lower data panel, click the
Content pane to display the table of imported content. The table columns contain the following information:
◦ Source—The content source file names. Hover the pointer over a file name to show its location.
◦ Update policy—The current update policy for this linked content: Update after confirmation or Always update. For embedded content, this column shows Embedded.
◦ Status—For linked content, this column shows the update status of the link. (This column does not apply if the content is embedded.)
3. In the Content pane of the lower data panel, click to highlight the row containing the linked content you want to change. In the ribbon, the Content tab opens.
4. Perform one of the actions below to open the Manage Link dialog box:
◦ In the Content pane of the lower data panel, in the Source column, right-click on the highlighted file name and click Settings.
◦ In the ribbon Content tab, click Settings.
5. In the Manage Link dialog box, under Settings, click the option: Always update - no confirmation or Update after confirmation only.
6. Click OK to close the Manage Link dialog box.
7. In the Content pane of the lower data panel, in the highlighted row, the value in the Update policy column changes to Always update or Update after confirmation.
