Model Annotation Visibility in Creo View
A data set can contain many model annotations. If all the model annotations are displayed, it can be difficult to view specific annotations or the underlying model. In Creo View there are several methods to hide or show model annotations in order to focus on specific annotations or the underlying model itself.
Setting the Default Visibility
Default visibility controls the initial display of model annotations. In the Creo View Options dialog box, next to Showing, select Defaults, and then under Annotations, select Model Annotations. In the Default visibility box, select one of the following:
• Hidden—Model annotations are initially hidden when you open the default view.
• By Initial Layers State—Model annotations are displayed according to the default layers state in the OL file. This is the default.
Setting Visibility Using Model Filters
Set filters to display Model Annotations using the Creo View Options dialog box. Next to Showing, select Defaults, and then under Model, select Filters. Alternatively, click > .
The Model-Filters page opens.
Visibility According to Layers
There is a set of layers in each geometry (OL) file. Each layer has a visibility state. You can select a view state to override this visibility state, or set an optional forced visibility state to each layer. Enable or disable layers from the Layers pane in the model view.
The visibility of annotations is determined by the state of the current layers, according to the hierarchy below:
1. If at least one associated layer is forced visible, the resulting layer is visible.
2. If all layers are visible, the resulting layer is visible.
3. If at least one layer is visible, the resulting layer is visible.
4. If there are no associated layers, the resulting layer is visible.
Model Visibility Determining Annotation Visibility
The visibility of annotations is also determined by the visibility of the model according to the hierarchy below:
1. If the associated model is hidden, the model annotation is hidden.
2. If there is a permanent screen space, the Model Annotation is always visible.
3. If the associated Filter is off, the model annotation is hidden.
4. If the model annotation has a visibility setting that was set in either the View State or the Model Annotations:
a. If the override value is visible, the model annotation is visible.
b. If the override value is hidden, the model annotation is hidden.
5. If the current associated layers’ visibility states are different than the initial layer’s state:
a. If the model is visible according to current layers, the model annotation is visible.
b. If the model is hidden according to current layers, the model annotation is hidden.
6. If it is a screen annotation and belongs to a child instance, the model annotation is hidden.
7. Reference back to the default visibility setting.
