Publishing Macro Enabled Documents
The publishing of macro-enabled documents is supported by Office publishing only, which is through the Creo View adapter for PDF. By default, the execution of macros is disabled, therefore the publishing process converts the macro-enabled documents without executing any macros.
To enable the execution of macros, activate the recipe option Advanced > Miscellaneous > Office Macros. This option is cleared by default. For more information, see Miscellaneous Advanced Settings for PDF Conversion.
You also need to configure the macro settings in your Microsoft Office software. For instance, to do this in Microsoft Word, follow these steps:
1. Open a Word document.
2. Click File > Options. The Word Options page opens.
3. In the side bar, click Trust Center. Under Microsoft Word Trust Center, click Trust Center Settings.
4. Under Macro Settings, select Disable all macros except digitally signed macros, or Enable all macros (not recommended; potentially dangerous code can run).
5. Click OK, and then OK to save and close the Word Options page.

The administrator should assess the risk that is associated with the execution of macros. Based on that assessment, the administrator should decide whether to enable the execution of those macros.
Office publishing executes macros that are configured to run on document load. Other macros are not executed.
In Visualization Content Services (VCS) publishing, the execution of macros is not permitted, and therefore, it is disabled by default.
