To Add 2D Symbols to the Symbol Library
1. Open the Model-Symbols options pane in the Creo Illustrate Options dialog box in one of the following ways:
From the Ribbon:
a. In the Home tab, in the Insert group, click Symbols. The symbol gallery opens.
b. Click Open Symbol Library. The Symbol Library dialog box opens.
c. Click Manage. The Creo Illustrate Options dialog box opens showing the Model-Symbols options on the right.
From the Creo Illustrate Options dialog box:
a. Click File > Options. The Creo Illustrate Options dialog box opens.
b. In the Showing box, select Illustration.
c. On the left, under Model, select Symbols. The Model-Symbols options open on the right.
2. To add a 2D symbol to the Symbol Library, do the following:
a. Click Add. The Symbol dialog box opens.
b. Browse to a 2D symbol file to add, and then click Open. The Library: Add Symbol dialog box opens.
c. In the Title and Description text boxes, type the symbol title and descriptive text.
In the Category list, select a category or to add a new category select Manage Categories.
The Manage Categories dialog box opens.
Click Add. The Add Category dialog box opens. In the Name field type the name of the new category. Click OK to add the category. Click Cancel to close without adding a category.
e. Under Tooltip, select Title and Description to display both the tooltip title and description when you place the pointer over the symbol.
f. Click +Add to define the tag for a symbol and then select a tag from the dropdown list, type a description, quantity, and units. Click OK.
g. Image Defaults — Select the orientation of the symbol.
h. Select Always face the camera to orient the symbol in the camera view.
i. Click OK to save the settings and close the dialog box.
