Working with View States
The view states found in the imported source data can be used both as a starting point when creating new figures as well as updating existing figures.
Creating a New Figure
View states are used when creating a new 3D figure as a starting point for part visibility, location, appearance as well as the camera view. When multiple assemblies have been imported a single view state can be used for each assembly, in this scenario there are a few things to be aware of:
The camera view seen in the preview will be taken from the first selected view state and is indicated with an icon against the view state.
Only one section cut can be applied to a figure, so in the case of multiple view states with section cuts being selected only the section cut from the first selected figure will be applied.
Clicking on a selected view state will deselect it.

Applying a View State in a Figure
View states or selected properties of a view state can be applied to assemblies in an existing figure. This can be useful to apply an alternate configuration to a figure while keeping the part locations already applied in the figure.
To apply a view sate to an assembly in a figure::
1. On the Home ribbon, click on View States, the View States dialog box opens.
2. Select the view state you want to apply from the list on the left.
*
You can apply multiple view states, but only one per assembly.
3. From the Properties section on the left, select the properties that you want to apply to the figure.
Location — Part location is set by the view state.
Visibility — Part visibility is set by the view state.
Appearance — Part color and visibility is set by the view state.
Unchecking a property means that the property will not be affected when the view state is applied.
4. Click OK to apply the view state and close the dialog boxor click Apply to keep the dialog box open.
Applying View State Camera Views
Camera views from the imported assemblies view states can be applied to a figure independently of the other properties.
To apply a view state camera to a figure:
1. On the Home ribbon click View State Cameras, list opens.
2. From the list, select the assembly the view state is from.
3. Select a view state from the list that opens from the selected assembly. The camera view from that view state is applied to the figure.
