Data Saved to the IGES File
IGES does not support hierarchical structures with multiple parts. When you save a figure as an IGES file, all of the figure's data is saved to a single part file. When you save a figure as an IGES file, the following data is included:

If Include structure to root is selected—Hierarchical structure
If Include structure to root is cleared—Flat list without part names
