About Selection Sets
Selection Sets are saved selections of items, including parts and annotations, with user-defined names. They are listed in the Selection Sets pane of the upper data panel.
Saved Selection Sets make it easy to re-select multiple items. This is useful when animating multiple parts from different assemblies.
In the upper data panel, selecting a Selection Set selects all items in that set. This saves time compared to manually selecting each item that you want to manipulate together. Selecting an item from a Selection Set Contents list applies a secondary highlight to that item in the view.
Each figure can have completely independent Selection Sets. You can also copy or paste Selection Sets between figures. You can add items to existing sets, remove items from sets, and move items between sets.
Selection sets are published for use by downstream viewers which can call on the selection set names to control the visibility of the parts in the sets.
A library of selection set names can be added to the standard, this helps to make sure the selection sets are named correctly to avoid issues downstream.
