About Textures
Use textures to add enhanced graphical details to parts in 3D figures. For example, you can use textures to show different material types on parts.
You can add a texture from the texture library or use any suitable raster image.

The texture library is empty and needs to be populated before it can be used to add texture to a part.
Managing the Textures Library
You can add, delete, edit and manage texture categories using the Model - Textures page in the Creo Illustrate Options dialog box.
To Open the Model Texture Options
From the Home ribbon:
1. Click Textures > Add Texture. The Add dialog box opens.
2. In the bottom left of the dialog, click Manage. The Creo Illustrate Options dialog box opens and the Model - Textures options page open on the right.

The Texture Library dialog box does not open until there is at least one texture.
Adding a Texture to the Library
1. On the Model - Textures page, click the Add button on the right, the  Select Texture dialog box opens.
2. Select an image file to use.
3. Click Open. The Library: Add Texture dialog box opens.
4. Enter a name for the in the Name field.
5. Optionally, add a description in the Description field.
6. Select a category from Category list or select Manage Categories from the category drop down.
7. Click OK. The texture is added to the library in the selected category.
8. Repeat above steps to add additional textures to the library.
From the File menu:
1. Click File > Options. The Creo Illustrate dialog box opens.
2. Next to Showing, select Illustration.
3. On the left, under Model, select Textures. On the right, the Model - Textures page opens.
Editing a Texture in the Library
You can edit the name, description, and category of an existing texture in the library.
1. Select a texture in the library and then click Edit.The Library: Edit Texture dialog box opens.
2. Edit the Name, Description or Category and then click OK.
Removing a Texture from the Library
Select a texture in the library and then click Delete. The texture is removed from the library.
Organizing Textures in the Library
As well as using categories to organize the textures library there is a favorites category which is intended for the most commonly used textures. When populated the favorites category always appears as the first category in the textures library dialog.
Adding a Texture to the Favorites Category
Favorites is simply a way to get quick access to regularly used textures, the texture appears in both its original category and favorites.
1. On the  Model - Textures  page, select a texture in the library.
2. Check the Favorites checkbox on the right-hand side. The texture is added to the favorite category.
Managing Categories
You can add, delete, and edit categories using the Manage Categories dialog box.
From the Texture Library dialog box:
Select Manage Categories in the Category menu. The Manage Categories dialog box opens.
From the Model - Textures page of the Creo Illustrate Options dialog box:
Click Manage Categories. The Manage Categories dialog box opens.
Adding a Category to the Library
1. In the Manage Categories dialog box, click Add. The Add Category dialog box opens.
2. Type a name for the new category, then click OK. The new category is added to the list.
3. Click OK. The category is added to the library.
Editing a Category in the Library
1. In the Manage Categories dialog box, click  Edit. The  Edit Category  dialog box opens.
2. Edit the name for the category, then click OK. The category is updated inthe list.
3. Click OK. The category name is updated in the library.
To Remove a Category from the Library
In the Manage Categories dialog box, select a category in the list and then click Delete. The category is removed from the library.

Only empty categories can be removed.
Reordering Categories in the Library
1.  In the Manage Categories dialog box, select a category.
2. Use the arrows on the right to move the category up or down in the list.
3. Click OK. The category isreordered in the texture library.
