To Change Inset Appearance Settings
1. In the figure window or the upper data panel View Content pane, perform the actions below:
a. Select one or more insets to change.
b. Right-click a selected inset and click Edit Properties. The Inset: Edit dialog box opens.
Alternatively, in the upper data panel View Content pane, select one or more insets to change. The Inset ribbon opens.
2. Edit appearance settings for the inset image and focus borders.

Appearance changes apply to both the inset and the focus. You cannot change their appearance settings separately.
Border—Select or clear the Inset or Focus check boxes to show or hide the inset or focus borders.
Shape—Click the Shape box and select a border shape: Circle, Square, Rectangle, or Hexagon.
Line style—Select a default line style from the list or define a new line style.
To define a new line style, perform the following procedure:
1. Select Edit Line Styles. The General-Line Styles page opens.
2. Set a new line style.
Corner radius—Click the Corner radius box and select a corner radius size for the borders: None, Small, Medium, or Large.
Weight—In the Weight box, type or select the border line weight in physical units.
Line color—Select the border line color. Click the color box next to the option and set a new color in the Choose Color dialog box.
To set the color for the inset background, choose one or more of the following options:
To use the figure background color, select the Use figure background check box.
To use a different background color, clear the Use figure background check box. Click the color box next to the option and set a new color in the Choose Color dialog box.
3. Edit appearance settings for the inset leader.
Leader—Click the Leader box and select a leader type: Sweep Arrow, Straight Line, or None.
Line style—Select a default line style from the list or define a new line style.
To define a new line style, perform the following procedure:
1. Select Edit Line Styles. The General-Line Styles page opens.
2. Set a new line style.
Weight—In the Weight box, type or select the leader line weight in physical units. For the Sweep Arrow leader, the line weight sets the width at the wide (inset) end of the arrow.
Line color—Select the leader color. Click the color box next to the option and set a new color in the Choose Color dialog box.
Width—Set the width of the leader line.
Fill Color—Select the fill color of the leader. Click the color box next to the option and set a new color in the Choose Color dialog box.

Fill color is only available for the Sweep Arrow leader.
4. To add a halo to the label or leader line, select the Label or Leader check box. Edit the appearance settings of the halo:
Weight—Type or select a line weight from (0.5 to 10.00) x Line weight.
Color—Select the font from the Choose Color dialog box.
Opacity—Set the percentage of opacity from 0–100.
5. Click OK to save changes and close the Inset: Edit dialog box. Click Cancel to close without saving changes.
