To Create and Manage Callout Templates
You can add, edit, or delete callout templates using the Annotations-Callouts page.
The callout templates populate the annotations list found in the Home ribbon for 3D figures, where they can be used to place new callouts and notes in the figure.
1. To open the Annotations-Callouts page, perform one of the following:
From the Home ribbon:
1. Click Annotations. The annotations menu opens.
2. At the bottom of the annotations menu, click Manage Callouts. The Creo Illustrate Options dialog box opens and the Annotations-Callouts options open on the right.
From the File menu:
1. Click File > Options. The Creo Illustrate Options dialog box opens.
2. Next to Showing, select Illustration, and then under Annotations click Callouts.
2. Edit the callout template in any of the following ways:
Add a callout template to the library. (See To Add a Callout Template to the Library).
Delete a callout template from the library. (See To Delete a Callout Template from the Library).
Edit a callout template. (See To Edit a Callout Template in the Library).
3. When you are done editing the callout template, click Apply to apply the settings and keep the Creo Illustrate Options dialog box open, or click OK to apply the settings and close the dialog box.
To Add a Callout Template to the Library
1. On the Annotations-Callouts page, click Add. The Callout Template: Edit dialog box opens.
2. Enter a name for the callout template In the Name box.
3. To add a tooltip to the callout template, enter the text in the Tooltip box.
4. To add an image to the callout template perform the following:
a. Under Preview, click Select. The Add Image dialog box opens.
b. Browse to an image that you have created, and then click Open. The image is added to the callout template, and appears in the Preview window.
5. Use the options in the following tabs to customize the callout template:
Content—Customize the content of the callout. You can include item numbers, insert quantities and insert attributes to the content of a callout.
To enter a value as the callout is created, select Edit on creation.
To create a callout with label content that can be edited after it is placed in the figure, select Editable content.
Click Insert Item number to insert a placeholder in the content box for the item number which gets added when the callout is created.
Click Insert Quantity to insert a placeholder in the content box for the quantity of the item which gets added when the callout is created.
Click Insert Attribute to open the Insert Attribute dialog box, where you can choose one or more attributes to be inserted into the content box for the callout.
Label—Customize the shape, size and color of the label text and border.
Leader—Customize leader line attributes including leader, pen, weight, style, and color.
Halo—Add a halo to the label or leader line.
6. Click OK. The callout template is created and added to the library.
To Remove a Callout Template from the Library
Select the callout template from the library and then click Delete. The callout template is removed from the library.

Callout templates from the standard cannot be deleted.
To Edit a Callout Template in the Library
1. Select the callout template in the library and then click Edit. The Callout Template: Edit dialog box opens.
2. Edit the callout template, and then click OK.
