Trimming Lines in 2D Figures
Use the trim tool in Creo Illustrate to trim lines in 2D figures. You can trim all line types including polylines and bezier curves.
Trimmed lines become two separate lines that you can shorten, lengthen, move, and duplicate.
You can trim a line between any of the following items:
An existing point
An existing intersection
User selected point
To Trim a Line
1. Click Trim. The trim tool is activated.
2. Select a line to trim (trim line). The selected trim line is highlighted green.
3. Select the points or intersections to trim the line to by holding the SHIFT key and selecting a point on the line or an intersecting line. Cut lines are highlighted in red.
4. The line is automatically trimmed once the second cut line or point is selected.

Where possible a suggested section to trim is indicated with a dashed line when the trim line is selected. Selecting ENTER or clicking on the dashed section completes the trim.
5. Press ENTER, or double-click to trim the selected line to the nearest cut line.
To select a different cut line, press SHIFT and select a new line. The cut line appears in red.
To Trim Multiple Lines
1. Click Trim. The trim tool is activated.
2. To select multiple lines to trim, perform one of the following:
Click and drag
Press CTRL and select trim lines
The selected trim lines are highlighted in green.
3. Select the points or intersections to trim the lines to by holding the SHIFT key and selecting a point on the line or an intersecting line. Cut lines appear in red.
4. The lines are automatically trimmed once the second cut line or point is selected.
